Scholarships

The Cove Education Foundation is proud to offer the following scholarships to graduates of Cove High School:

Cove Education Foundation Scholarship

Recipients for this $500 scholarship are nominated and selected by Cove School teachers and staff. Selction criteria include financial need, character, and student motivation. This scholarship is funded by donations from community members and Cove School Alumni.

Community Service Scholarship

The Cove Community Service Scholarship in the amount of $500 is intended to promote and encourage community service. Preference is given to applicants qualifying for the Presidential Freedom Scholarship. To be eligible for the Presidential Freedom Scholarship the receipient must receive a $500 scholarship that is funded locally. Please see your guidance councilor for an application.

At present the fiscal 2007 budget request for the Corporation for National and Community Service does not contain funding for continued operation of the Presidential Freedom Scholarship program. For more information, click here.

Richards Memorial Scholarship

The Richards Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1000 is granted annually to a Cove High School graduating senior. This scholarship is funded by a donation from the estate of Cecil and Margueriette Richards. Cecil, Cove High School class of 1932, and Margueritte both attended Eastern Oregon Normal School and had a long careers in education in Eastern Oregon. Cecil and Margueritte were interested in helping students overcome challenges to get into college. This scholarship honors their efforts by continuing that tradition.

Selction criteria include financial need, character, and student motivation. Preference is given to applicants interested in a career in education and to applicants who plan to attend Eastern Oregon Univeristy. Please see your guidance councilor for an application.
